Event Details

This year is crucial to the future of further and higher education; not just on how to fund higher education, but also how to protect the sector from severe cuts in the comprehensive spending review.

BYC will be joining the National Union of Students (BYC Members) and University and College Union (UCU) National demo through central London, through the Westminster village.

Demonstrators will assemble at a key rally point where there will be a range of high profile political speakers to engage participants. With placards, banners and chants we will be using the opportunity to educate the public about the issue as well as demonstrating to policy makers that students and lecturers are united in their demands.

We will meet under the BYC Banner in Trafalgar Square at 11.30am.

Joining instructions will be sent out to participants before the event.

British Youth Council

The British Youth Council, as the national youth council of the UK, aims to connect with our member organisations and networks of local youth councils, to empower young people aged 25 and under, wherever they are from, to have a say and be heard. We aim to help them to participate in decisions that affect them; have a voice and campaign on issues they believe in, inspire them to have a positive impact, and gain recognition for their positive contribution to communities, society and the world.
